Cetrotide Injection Manufacturer:
SeronoCetrotide Injection Information:
Cetrotide Injection is a prescription medicine used for treating infertility in women. Its generic name is Cetrorelix Acetate and it belongs to the category of gonadotropin releasing hormone blockers. Cetrotide Injection is a vial which needs to be administered to a patient subcutaneously.
Description of Cetrotide Injection:
Cetrotide Injection is given to a patient only once during the early to mid-follicular phase, usually on the day 7 of stimulation. hCG is administered within 4 days after this injection, but if this is not done, the patient will need to take a lower dose of the drug once a day until the hCG administration. After giving you the shot, your doctor will take your ultrasound to check for a sufficient amount of follicles. After that, hCG will be administered so that ovulation is induced and the oocytes are finally matured.
Advantages of Cetrotide Injection:
The main aim of Cetrotide Injection is to make you pregnant naturally without any artificial procedures. It just makes a slight change in your ovulation schedule and after that, you can get pregnant immediately after the treatment. The injection is given under the skin and therefore, there are no risks of injecting the drug in the wrong vein or contracting any kind of infection. The side effects are minimal, apart from mild itching, redness, or pain at the site of the injection.
How Cetrotide Injection Works:
Cetrotide Injection works by preventing premature ovulation in women undergoing controlled stimulation of the ovaries. The injection is given to a patient under the skin (subcutaneously) and should not be administered into the veins, arteries, or muscles of the patient.
