Schering AlmanFludara Injection Information:
Fludara Injection is a cancer medication whose generic name Fludarabine. It is used for treating B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia or CLL. This medication works by stopping the cancer cells from multiplying and spreading in the body. Fludara Injection is usually prescribed to a patient after other medications have not been successful. It may also be given for other purposes as determined by a doctor.
Description of Fludara Injection:
Fludara Injection may be used as a part of cancer treatment or as a lone medication for treating acute myelogenous leukemia or chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It may also be used for treating adults diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and along with other chemotherapy drugs for the preparation of peripheral blood transplant or bone marrow transplant.
Advantages of Fludara Injection:
There are various advantages of Fludara Injection, including:
- Fludara Injection can be useful when all other chemotherapy drugs have failed
- Patients with non-Hodgkin’s disease may live longer when Fludara Injection is given along with other chemotherapy drugs
- Fludara Injection has a high response rate, especially among patients who were prescribed the medication
How Fludara Injection Works:
Fludara Injection works by not allowing cancer or tumor cells to grow and spread normally. This leads to the death of the tumor cell. The medication is administered as an intravenous injection or IV by a qualified medical professional in a hospital or clinic setting. Fludara Injection must be injected slowly, so the infusion therapy may take up to 30 minutes. The recommended schedule is 5 consecutive days in one cycle, which lasts for 28 days in total. If your body responds well to Fludara Injection, your doctor may prescribe additional cycles.
