Hyper-pigmentation could be a result of an abrasion to the dermis, over-exposure to sunlight, and over or under secretion of hormones in the body. The Lustra cream plays a vital role in re-establishing the original color and appearance of the dermis. The advantage lies in the fullness of the Lustra-Ultra dermo cream, which aids in controlling macula, brown spots and black patches on the skin. The composition of the cream helps in regaining and increasing the longevity of supple skin.Composition
The Lustra skin cream has the following composition:Hydroquinone: The 4-5% concentration helps in enhancing and improving skin color by lightening black patches and eruptions.
Retinol: The 0.3% of retinol refines the appearance and framework of the skin with negligible irritation.
Sunscreen: The generation of melanin when compared to Hydroquinine therapy is much faster. The dermis is guarded by the broad-spectrum sunscreen duo of UVA and UVB protection, which decreases the skin color deformity. Ordinary Lustra does not contain broad-spectrum sunscreen, whereas Lustra-Ultra and Lustra-AF contains broad-spectrum sunscreen, and that is why the latter two are preferred. Dermatologists always prescribe broad-spectrum sunscreen which has SPF of 15 or greater, as it is approved for patients on Lustra therapy.
Glycolic acid: This is another important constituent of this skin cream, which has Alpha hydroxy acid (glycolic acid) that increases the skin’s texture, increases growth of cells in sufficient numbers and removes hyper-pigmented cells in a rapid manner. Moreover, skin ageing also decreases.
Safety Information
Undesirable reactions will occur if Hydroquinone is used outside of proper procedures and if the usage is in excess of the quantity prescribed. Before using any of the products (i.e. LUSTRA-AF, LUSTRA and LUSTRA-ULTRA), a skin test must be done. The patient should be checked if there is severe pain after its application. There is always a chance of slight redness after its usage.This product causes problems when it is in direct contact with the eyes, which should always be avoided. In hydroquinone treatment, using sunscreen is an important factor, because even minimal sunlight maintains melanocytic activity. Warning: The products have a compound known as sodium metabisulfite that can cause an adverse allergic reaction (e.g., wheezing, hives, itching, severe asthma attack, anaphylaxis,) in certain affected persons.
Indications and Usage
Lustra products are suggested and prescribed for skin color deformity therapy, which has been caused due to excessive exposure to sunlight, usage of oral contraceptives, pregnancy, hormone replacement therapy or skin trauma.How to Use
Lustra products are applied directly on the affected areas thrice a day in the morning and at night as directed by the practitioner. The patient must avoid exposure to sunlight. After the application, the patient must use a sunscreen or sun-protective clothing to protect the treated areas in order to prevent fragmentation of the pigment.No actual prescribed dosage exits for patients under the age of 12 years except under the strict guidance, opinion and supervision of an experienced practitioner.
