Paragard Information:

Paragard is a copper intrauterine device (IUD) used by women to prevent pregnancy. Its generic name is copper. This device can be used for a long period of time, even as long as up to 10 years. It is highly effective in preventing a pregnancy and has fewer side effects than many oral contraceptives.

Description of Paragard:

Paragard is in the shape of a ‘T’ and is made of flexible copper and plastic. The arms and stems, which are of plastic, are wrapped with copper.
