Suplasyn Description
Suplasyn is a highly sterile form of hyaluronic acid, which is specially made to treat patients suffering from OA. It is used in the viscosupplementation therapy used for the treatment of OA. It is derived from non-animal ingredients and processed with non-heated treatment that has been proven to be safe. The Suplasyn injections are injected into the synovial cavity of the knee joint. It is known to relieve pain and any inflammation ranging from mild to medium OA.Suplasyn acts by increasing the joint's usual lubrication. People suffering from OA, have some reduction in the tissue fluid that surrounds the joints, leading to stiff movement and pain. The reduced levels of the natural lubricant are increased artificially with the help of Suplasyn injections to the patient at the joint. Though it is normally used for knee treatment which is joint specific, Suplasyn also brings a great deal of relief to the joints troubl by osteoarthritis, which includes the shoulder, hip, shoulder and elbow.
Indications for Usage
Suplasyn injections are given one time in a week regularly for a period of three weeks. Results depend upon the severity of the case and may depend on how serious your condition really is. In most severe cases, supplementary injections may be helpful for the patient.Side Effects
There are side effects of the Suplasyn injections, as the patient may suffer from temporary short-period pain after the intra-articular injection. The affected joint has shown in the past some reactions such as little pain, redness, feeling of heat or swelling. For the majority of patients, these mild side effects will vanish after a while.Precautions
Here is a word of caution given to doctors prescribing Suplasyn injections: do not use Suplasyn injections on patients suffering from hypersensitive reactions. An ingredient of Suplasyn injections - sodium hyalrunote - may cause adverse reactions. There have been cases when minor inflammation has been reported when used but are generally considered to be due to the method of administration. Each batch is tested to confirm its essential non-inflammatory properties. The patient must inform the doctor about any kind of herbal medicines that they are taking before they start with Suplasyn. Coffee, nicotine and drug intake should also be identified so the right dosage can be determined. Usually, Suplasyn is suggested to patients who suffer from severe pain. A single shot of Suplasyn is prescribed in case of joint pain caused by an injury and flares of pain caused by osteoarthritis (OA). Experts say that some joints may need to be injected 3 to 4 times a year, in cases where patients have high levels of OA. The doctor is the best person to decide whether an injection is right for an individual. If the patient forgets a dose of medication, the patient can skip the missed dose and resume the regular schedule.
