Vantas is an implant (drug delivery system) which is inserted in a man’s body to provide relief from symptoms of prostate cancer (in the advanced stages). The generic name of the drug is Histrelin. The medication is not a cure for prostate cancer, but is only used to provide relief from its symptoms. The drug is only prescribed for men and is not suitable for women and children. Description of Vantas:
Histrelin, the main active ingredient in Vantas, is a man made hormone similar to the hormone that is released by the hypothalamus in the brain. The drug is available in the form of an implant.
