Vectibix Injection Manufacturer:

Amgen Ltd

Vectibix Injection Information:

Vectibix Injection is a cancer medicine used for treating rectal or colon cancer. It is usually given to a patient whose cancer has spread to other body parts after other chemotherapy treatments. The generic name of the drug is Panitumumab Injection, and it belongs to the category of anti-cancer medications.

Description of Vectibix Injection:

Vectibix Injection is available in the form of a vial that is given to the patient intravenously. The injection is given slowly with an IV infusion, and it may take around 90 minutes for the process to get completed. Before taking this drug, your doctor may need to conduct your biopsy to ensure that this is the correct medicine for your type of cancer. Usually, the injection is given once in 2 weeks, but it may differ depending on your medical condition and response to treatment.

Advantages of Vectibix Injection:

Vectibix Injection is a highly effective cancer medication used to treat your condition even if other chemotherapy treatments have failed to provide relief. After taking this injection, the symptoms of rectal or colon cancer will be relieved. These symptoms include abdominal pain or distension, tarry or black stools, persistent vomiting and constipation, vaginal discharge, pencil-thin stools, weight loss, pelvic pain, abdominal cramping, bloating, and difficulty or pain during bowel movements. Another important advantage of taking Vectibix Injection is that you will not need to visit your doctor everyday, as it is given only once in 2 weeks. This means that your daily schedule will not be disturbed.

You may experience very mild side effects of the drug, which include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea, or tiredness. These side effects can be easily managed without any professional medical help. Most of these subside within a few days of taking the shot as your body gets used to the drug.

How Vectibix Injection Works:

Vectibix Injection works by interfering with the cancer cells’ growth. The drug binds itself to proteins of cancer cells, which slows down their growth, spread, and production.
